Corvette Racing Is Bringing Its Biggest Le Mans Attack In Years

(0 reviews)

Sustained Success

Since joining the 24 Hours of Le Mans as an official factory race team back in 2000, the Corvette Racing program has captured 9 overall class wins across 2 decades of competition. This team has continued to ride out every installment of the world's most demanding race, finding success across four generations of the Corvette (C5-C8).

Looking to recapture an overall win, this year's Corvette Racing Le Mans team will comprise four cars, the largest team assembled to compete in over a decade.

Corvette Quartet

The last time the team took the top step of the podium was in 2023, when it took the overall win in the now-defunct GTE classification. While the newer GT3-class Corvette took 3rd place in last year's race, it's its first podium since its debut in 2024.

In 2026, the 4 Corvettes will compete under the stewardship of the official race program. TF Sport is fielding three of the four Corvettes, including two cars that compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), with the third featuring drivers and crew from Johor Motorsports Racing. The fourth car will be from 13 Autosport, coming off a second consecutive Bob Akin Award in the 2025 IMSA season.

Here is the full driver and team lineup:

  • No. 33 TF Sport Corvette Z06 GT3.R: Nicky Catsburg/Jonny Edgar/Ben Keating
  • No. 34 Racing Team Turkey by TF Corvette Z06 GT3.R: Charlie Eastwood/Salih Yoluc/Peter Dempsey
  • No. 2 TF Sport Corvette Z06 GT3.R: Ben Green/Lorcan Hanafin/HH Prince Jefri Ibrahim
  • No. 13 13 Autosport Corvette Z06 GT3.R: Matt Bell/Orey Fidani/Lars Kern

Le Mans Crucial For Points

Since Le Mans is officially part of the WEC calendar, major points are on the line for the teams competing in the whole WEC season. No. 33 and No. 34 are the Corvettes looking to capitalize on this grueling race to advance further in the standings. Le Mans is a double-points race with huge implications for the rest of the season. Every GT3 Le Mans winner since 2021 has won its class championship at the end of the year.

The third TF Sport car, No. 2, is no slouch and was the overall winner of last year's European Le Mans Series. Only Hanafin has raced at Circuit De la Sarthe, with the other two bolstering the lineup with experience in endurance races in Bathurst and Spa. 13 Autosport No. 13, meanwhile, finished a respectable 10th at last year's race, but was a fan favorite with the red Canadian-themed Corvette.
