The Shore to Shore trip is not too far away and we are excited! Thank you so much for joining us on our adventure.
This document is your informational letter for the weekend. Print it and bring it with you. Hopefully it will answer most of your questions.
Below is the attentive schedule for the weekend. It may change a bit because sometimes trail riding does that. But this is our goal…
First things first: The official start of the event is Thursday morning (sunrise is at 5:51am) but we know that Oscoda is a trek for many. There are also a couple of places to stay in town if you would prefer a bed and bathroom the night before.
Hotel suggestions:

114 N Lake St, Oscoda, MI 48750
AmericInn by Wyndham Oscoda Near AuSable River

VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS:
All vehicles must have 4 wheel drive! Please take the time to inspect your vehicle before arriving. Make sure all fluids are full and 4 wheel drive engages properly. Do you have a spare tire? Does your vehicle require a lug key? Every vehicle MUST have a tow point front and rear. This could be as simple as a rear hitch tow point. We suggest (not required) bringing basic recovery gear. We always carry a thorough recovery kit and can lend supplies and a helping hand to anyone that needs it. We will ask you to air down your tires and will explain more about that at the drivers meeting.
CAMPING AND FOOD:
You are responsible for all of your own camping gear and food this weekend. The temperatures can get into the 40-50’s at night. BE PREPARED! As a rule of thumb, women tend to need sleeping bags that are rated for 20-30 degrees lower than actual temperatures. Bring a tarp to put on the ground under your tent for extra insulation. Air mattresses are not insulated well.
Don’t forget your trail snacks, picnic lunch, breakfast and dinner that can be cooked over the fire or at camp. Alcoholic beverages are allowed to be enjoyed around the campfire but NOT ON THE TRAIL. Anyone found to be drinking on the trail will be escorted to the closest town and their adventure with Discover 4x4 will come to an end. There will be pit toilets at camp and we do stop at a couple along the route. Please plan to pack out what you pack in. Be kind to nature and do not litter (this includes toilet paper).
