A New Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat May Be Closer Than Fans Think

(0 reviews)

The Hemi-Powered Charger Might Finally Be Getting Closer

The 2027 Dodge Charger lineup has been in the news lately, but not for the reason you might hope. Most trims kept their prices steady, but the all-electric Charger Daytona got a hefty price hike with zero extra power to show for it. Still, the big question refuses to go away: where on earth is the Hemi-powered Charger?

Dodge is keeping its lips sealed on any official word about a Charger SRT Hellcat comeback. The brand is playing it coy, even as the V8 rumor mill refuses to slow down. However, the signs are starting to look promising.

CarScoops reports that Dodge and Ram boss Tim Kuniskis dropped a not-so-subtle hint about a surprise reveal at Roadkill Nights on August 8. He didn't spill any details, but considering his track record and the endless calls for a Hemi-powered Charger, we won’t be surprised if the event brings back the Charger SRT Hellcat at the event – or at least another V8 beast.

Dodge Confirms New Product Announcements Are Coming

Dodge is fanning the flames even more by officially promising new product reveals at Roadkill Nights 2026. The announcement teases “new product announcements” as part of the party, but of course, they're keeping the juicy details under wraps for now.

That event has a history of big Dodge reveals – remember the Charger Daytona SRT Concept? If you're going to drop a new halo performance model, this is the place. Plus, the crowd is exactly the kind of die-hard enthusiast who would lose their minds over a Hellcat comeback.

Is Dodge cooking up a full-blown Charger SRT Hellcat, another Hemi-powered monster, or something totally unexpected? We don't know yet, but with teasers in the mix, you can bet the hype train is just getting started.

Roadkill Nights Is Getting Bigger For 2026

Even if Dodge keeps us guessing, Roadkill Nights 2026 is shaping up to be the wildest one yet. For the first time ever, there will be two racing venues running at once. Woodward Avenue is back with street-legal drag racing, and now there's a new road-course shootout at M1 Concourse where all sorts of performance machines will duke it out for cash.

The Direct Connection Grudge Match is back too, this time with a twist: it's all about the 550-horsepower Dodge Charger Scat Pack packing the twin-turbo SIXPACK High-Output engine. Teams will wrench on these cars all season, battling it out until the finale at the Mopar NHRA Las Vegas Nationals. The winner? Their ride gets a ticket straight to this year's big SEMA gathering.

And it's not just about racing, either. There will be Charger-themed parties, Dodge thrill rides, drift sessions, Ram displays, NHRA stars, Roadkill celebs, social media creators, NASCAR faces, and a car show that's set to be absolutely massive. That said, if Dodge wants to make a splash with the return of the SRT Hellcat, Roadkill Nights would be the perfect venue.
