Cadillac Just Killed The Cheapest Escalade Trim

(0 reviews)

A Six-Figure Starting Point

Nobody’s ever called the Cadillac Escalade a bargain, but the 2026 model just barely slips under the six-figure wire. It starts at $93,995 before you factor in destination fees.

That’s about to change for 2027. Fresh ordering guides show Cadillac is ditching the entry-level 1SA trim, no matter if you want rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. Cadillac hasn’t dropped official pricing yet, but with the cheapest model gone, you can bet the Escalade’s starting price will leap past $100,000.

Next up is the so-called Luxury trim, which starts at $104,995 for rear-wheel drive and $107,995 for four-wheel drive. If Cadillac keeps things in the same neighborhood, anyone eyeing a 2027 Escalade should brace for a six-figure price tag before you even start ticking option boxes.

Ordering Guide Reveals More Lineup Changes

According to Car and Driver, the missing base trim isn’t the only shakeup for 2027. Cadillac is also pulling the plug on rear-wheel-drive versions of the Platinum Luxury and Platinum Sport trims. From here on out, those top-shelf models are strictly four-wheel drive.

Cadillac is also sprinkling in some new features and tweaks across the lineup. There’s a fresh Sandstone paint color in the mix, though Platinum buyers are out of luck. Digital Key support is coming soon via an over-the-air update, and there’s a new graphics package plus trailer tire-pressure monitoring for those who like to haul in style.

On the flip side, some old favorites are getting the boot. Say goodbye to the Interior Protection Package, the Onyx Lite Package for the Escalade-V, all-weather floor mats, and both Magnus Metal Frost and Aegean Stone paint options – they’re all gone from the latest ordering guide.

Otherwise, it’s business as usual. The 6.2-liter V8 and 10-speed automatic stick around for most trims, and the supercharged Escalade-V still holds the crown as the performance king.

Still Not the Most Expensive SUV You Can Buy

Sure, a starting price over $100,000 puts the 2027 Escalade firmly in the six-figure club, but it’s still a far cry from the most wallet-busting luxury SUVs you can buy in the US.

Step into the ultra-luxury world and the numbers skyrocket. Bentleys, Rolls-Royces, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and Mercedes-Maybachs all leave the Escalade’s price tag in the dust, with loaded examples often soaring past $250,000.

That leaves Cadillac’s flagship in a curious spot. It’s still battling the usual full-size luxury SUV suspects, but it’s a lot more attainable than the ultra-luxury, hand-built giants at the top of the food chain.

For those who’ve always seen the Escalade as the gold standard for American luxury SUVs, this price hike probably won’t change much. It just means getting your name on the list now requires a fatter check.
