Ford’s New Super Duty Package Is Impossible To Miss

(0 reviews)

In a sea of pickup trucks all over the country, Ford Custom Garage is offering a new way to stand out with your Super Duty with a new "Proud to Honor" package that has been released in celebration of America's 250th birthday. The package is simple, but not subtle, with attention-grabbing graphics in red, white, and blue emblazoned on the sides of each truck it's applied to. Depending on the model, the package has some slight variations, but all versions provide a few upgrades. Let's take a closer look.

For the F-250 with a single-rear-wheel setup, Ford adds the Proud to Honor graphics, a Ford Custom Garage logo graphic, and forged aluminum wheels in black. The F-350's single-rear-wheel configuration gets the same upgrades, and so does the dually. This also applies to the F-450 dual-rear-wheel model, but its wheels have a slightly different design, and this marks the first time that 19.5-inch forged aluminum wheels have been offered on a dually. The upgrades are available for the XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum trims, but there is a restriction: the Proud to Honor package can only be applied to a Super Duty that's been painted black.

What makes the changes better than an aftermarket transformation is that you get factory backing, with each package carrying a supplemental three-year/36,000-mile warranty, and having the upgrades installed by a Ford dealer or an ASE-certified technician keeps the warranty intact. Unfortunately, pricing for the limited-run package has not been made public yet, and the 2027 Super Duty is not yet live on Ford's configurator.

Ford has announced that a portion of the proceeds from the Proud to Honor package will go to Blue Star Families and Ford's own Proud to Honor veteran initiative, hence the name. Naturally, not everyone will like the overt nature of this package, but Ford has other options. There's now a Carhartt special edition with unique upholstery and branding, and if special editions aren't up your alley, the 2027 Super Duty features bigger tires, the Tremor option has been expanded to more trims, including the base XL with Crew Cab and eight-foot bed, and the aforementioned Platinum trim with its leather seats is a new option.

If a Super Duty is too extreme, and an F-150 is still too large, and if a Maverick isn't your jam, Ford is developing a new $30k truck that should be near the end of its development cycle by the end of the year.
