When the 789-horsepower Lamborghini Urus SE plug-in hybrid arrived, it effectively replaced both the S and the Performante in one fell swoop, but Sant'Agata is about to introduce an even more extreme take on its best-seller, teasing what appears to be the new Performante model. The automaker took to social media to share a single shadowy image of the incoming Urus model, and while the name was not confirmed (some say it will be called the Urus SE Performante, while others suggest the SE element of the moniker is redundant), Lamborghini did reveal the debut date: July 1.
Lamborghini's New Urus Gets More Aero
The Instagram post reveals that the rear end of the Urus is gaining a more aggressive carbon fiber roof spoiler, along with an additional carbon spoiler below the rear glass, somewhat reminiscent of the Aston Martin DBX super SUV's ducktail. That roof spoiler may be adjustable, and the diffuser is expected to be taller. We can't see any obvious changes to the taillights, and we also can't see the front end of the new Urus, but spy shots captured on the Nürburgring confirm more upright and more aggressive intakes below the headlights, along with a revised lower intake and a chunkier chin spoiler. New wheel designs will surely be introduced, too, and inside, we can expect subtle tech improvements but nothing too extreme.
As for performance, the new Urus variant is expected to be Lamborghini's most powerful SUV yet. The 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 with plug-in hybrid power is expected to be retained and boosted to somewhere north of 800 hp, and to ensure the SUV can manage that weight, retuned suspension is a given. More aggressive brakes and new drive modes could also make an appearance, but official information on the new Urus has been scant, so we'll just have to wait a week for the Wednesday reveal.
Several New Lambos Coming in 2026
SH Proshots/Autoblog
Earlier this year, Lamborghini announced that it would reveal several new models throughout 2026, some of which will be revealed at events like the Goodwood Festival of Speed (July 9-12) and Monterey Car Week (August 7-17). We've already seen the new Fenomeno Roadster, and now the new Urus has been teased, but what else is coming? An electric Raging Bull isn't coming any time soon, but our spies have seen engineers testing a Spyder variant of the Temerario and a more extreme take on the Revuelto V12 supercar, potentially reviving the SV badge. The company has also hinted at a new 2+2 GT, but that's unlikely to debut this year. We'll bring you more information as we get it.
