Pininfarina's Redesigned Acura NSX Is Coming to America

(0 reviews)

The NSX “Comeback”

If you’re an Acura NSX diehard, 2025 has been a wild ride already. Italdesign has its own take with a retro-modern NSX Tribute, a clear sign that Honda’s mid-engine legend still has plenty of fans decades after it left the factory floor.

But Pininfarina wasn’t content with just a tribute. The Italian design legends joined forces with Honda’s racing sidekick JAS Motorsport to cook up something wilder: a true modern take on the first-gen NSX. Meet the Tensei (that’s Japanese for 'rebirth'), a 1990s NSX at its core, but reimagined as a limited-run supercar with new looks, sharper engineering, and an interior overhaul.

Now, things are getting real. JAS Motorsport just confirmed the Tensei is officially headed to North America. Graham Rahal Performance will handle the US market, while Pfaff Reserve will take care of Canadian buyers.

It’s Officially Coming to North America

JAS Motorsport picked two dealerships already well-versed in the art of rare, collectible performance machines. Stateside, Graham Rahal Performance is in charge of sales and support. Founded by IndyCar champ Graham Rahal, this Indiana outfit is known for hunting down rare exotics and offering white-glove service for everything from street toys to track weapons.

North of the border, Pfaff Reserve (with bases in Toronto and Vancouver) will handle things. They’re no strangers to exclusive sports cars and collector gems, so the Tensei fits right in.

The Tensei is pure Japanese engineering under a fresh Italian suit. Pininfarina sculpted a brand-new carbon-fiber body, but the classic NSX shape is still front and center. It’s longer, wider, lower, and sits on a meaner stance with bigger brakes and bolder proportions. Instead of tossing out the old playbook, Pininfarina just sharpened one of the most iconic silhouettes of the '90s.

JAS Motorsport insists this is way more than a cosmetic restomod. With nearly 30 years and over 900 race wins alongside Honda, they’re promising serious race-bred engineering lurking beneath that new skin.

Limited to Just 35 Examples

Only 35 Tenseis will exist on the planet, making this one of the rarest modern NSX reboots you’ll ever see. Specs are still under wraps, but word is the Tensei sticks with a naturally aspirated V6 and a six-speed manual – just like the original recipe that made the NSX a legend among drivers. No power numbers yet, but with a beefed-up chassis, wider stance, and carbon-fiber everything, expect it to leave the old car in the dust.

The Tensei’s big public reveal is set for late 2026, after a few lucky folks got a sneak peek last year at Fuji Raceway in Japan.

No word on price yet, but with all that carbon fiber, Pininfarina magic, and a run of just 35 cars, don’t be shocked if the Tensei lands deep in six-figure territory. That’s right in line with the original NSX market, while some pristine, outstanding examples have already flirted with a million bucks at auction.
