Range Rover SV Ultra Turns A $252,800 SUV Into A Rolling Luxury Lounge

(0 reviews)

The Ultimate Range Rover Arrives

The new Range Rover SV Ultra is now available in JaguarLand Rover’s U.S. configurator. For those unfamiliar, it is the most luxurious take on the Range Rover yet, pushing the SUV further into ultra-luxury territory with exclusive styling and unique features, including a state-of-the-art sound system.

Unlike the Range Rover SV Black, the flagship Range Rover SV Ultra focuses more on creating a lounge-like luxury experience than making the SUV sportier. Martin Limpert, global managing director of Range Rover, described it as “one of the finest expressions of Range Rover luxury we have ever created,” which says a lot given that SV-badged models already lean heavily into luxury.

Luxury In Fine Detail

Exterior-wise, the Range Rover SV Ultra is available in a wide array of colors, but the main highlight is Titan Silver, which is exclusive to the flagship trim. The finish uses real fine aluminum flake and advanced pigment technology to produce a mirror-like quality. It is complemented by Satin Platinum Atlas and Silver Chrome accents, along with either 22- or 23-inch wheels with Satin Platinum inserts and new Range Rover center caps.

Inside, the cabin gets an exclusive leather-free Ultrafabrics interior finished in a light Orchid White and Cinder Grey duo-tone scheme. It is complemented by a new natural open-pore rattan palm veneer, giving the flagship trim a softer, more refined lounge-like feel.

Speaking of a lounge, the SUV is equipped with the SV Electrostatic Sound system, which uses 21 lightweight thin-film transducers paired with Body and Soul Seat and Sensory Floor technologies to create a more immersive listening experience by allowing occupants to physically feel parts of the music through vibrations in the seats and floor.

The New Face Of SV Luxury

For now, the Range Rover SV Ultra is powered by a BMW-sourced 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 also found in models like the XM. In this application, it produces 607 horsepower and is coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Later this year, a fully electric version will follow.

Pricing starts at $252,800, excluding destination fees, making it about $14,000 more expensive than the Range Rover SV Black. That places the nameplate closer to range-topping rivals such as the Aston Martin DBX S and Bentley Bentayga Speed, though it is playing more in the luxury lane than the performance lane.
