History For All
Car shows serve a specific purpose for the automotive industry. You have new shows that cover the launches of all-new models, businessmen in suits, product presentations, etc. There are other shows that cater to a completely different segment, where all that matters is that you bring the best example of a certain model.
These shows end up becoming a sort of history lesson, with each display car representing a period in the automotive timeline for people to admire. The Ultrace show, based in Germany, is that show, a collection of the very best of the automotive world, both new and old.
Ultimate Ultrace
A video about the show was posted on YouTube by Larry Chen, a globe-trotting automotive culture specialist. The video is worth watching for any car lover, and is actually a sensory overload: there are too many cars to count, and every corner of the venue is packed with something worth gawking at. Even Chen admits he was only supposed to stay for 2 hours, but found himself drawn to more cars as he went around.
When asked what his favorite cars on the show were, Chen said it would be hard to choose but mentioned the Porsche GT1, JGTC R32 Skyline, CLK GT1 (road version), and the super-rare Nissan R390. It's not all historic race cars, though; some of the cars in the main display hall are unique modern builds, like the Mark V Toyota Supra Adro Targa, which, as the name suggests, is a Supra with the roof removed for the Targa effect.

Achieved Dreams
The Ultrace car show has a mantra of "Achieved Dreams." It moves away from traditional car shows by blending the best of cars with high-end art. The displays are done as if it were an art show, creative lighting coupled with the car displays across over 8 acres of space.
Some brands also chose Ultrace to celebrate certain milestones, BMW showed up with a collection of M3s since the model is celebrating its 40th year. Mercedes-Benz also rocked up with some cars from the Loh Collection, and apart from Larry Chen, Sung Kang of Fast and Furious fame even showed up to the event as well.
