28 Days Expand 30th Anniversary Tour With New Regional Australian Dates

Aussie punk-rock veterans 28 Days are taking the party to the regions, announcing a new run of Australian tour dates after their recently announced 30th anniversary capital city shows sold out in record time.

The newly added October dates will see the Frankston punk favourites hit regional Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia and Tasmania, including a hometown show at Frankston’s Pelly Bar as part of the celebrations marking three decades of the band.

28 Days – ‘Rip It Up’

The anniversary tour also coincides with another milestone, with 28 Days’ platinum-selling breakthrough album Upstyledown set to receive its first-ever vinyl pressing.

Originally released in 2000, Upstyledown debuted at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart and helped cement 28 Days as one of Australia’s defining punk acts of the era, spawning enduring fan favourites including Rip It Up, Say What? and Sucker.

Formed at a Frankston skate park in the late 1990s, the band became synonymous with Australia’s turn-of-the-century punk explosion, earning a reputation through appearances at iconic festivals including Big Day Out and Homebake, while becoming Channel [V] staples along the way.

Rather than simply revisiting the past, the band say the anniversary run is about celebrating a career built on longevity in an industry where few Australian punk bands have managed to survive for three decades.

“Dust off your camo shorts, find your wallet chain, and grab that skateboard your kids don’t know how to ride,” the band joked in a statement.

“If you were there back then, you already know what’s coming. If you weren’t, it’s time for a lesson.”
