Cue the acoustic guitar intro and emotionally prepare your group chats: Plain White T’s are officially heading back to Australia for their first headline tour in more than ten years.
The multi-platinum Chicago pop-rock favies have announced a four-date Australian run for this October and November, bringing nearly three decades of singalong anthems. And yep – absolutely that song – back to intimate local stages.
Plain White T’s – ‘Hey There Delilah’
Kicking off in Sydney before heading through Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide, the tour arrives at a surprisingly perfect moment for the band. Twenty years after Hey There Delilah became one of the defining songs of the 2000s, the track has found a whole new life online, recently blowing up again across TikTok and even re-entering the ARIA Singles Chart at #87. Proof that some songs really do refuse to leave the cultural group chat.
Few tunes have had quite the same grip on millennial adolescence as Hey There Delilah. Released in 2006, the acoustic slow-burn became a global phenomenon, eventually topping the Billboard Hot 100, earning quadruple platinum certification and scoring two GRAMMY nominations including Song Of The Year.
But Plain White T’s were never just a one-song nostalgia machine. Across almost 30 years, the band have quietly built one of pop-rock’s most enduring catalogues, racking up more than 2.7 billion global streams while soundtracking road trips, breakups, awkward teenage crushes and approximately 14 million acoustic covers.
Joining them for all dates are Australia’s own Teenage Joans – who continue to become one of the country’s most exciting pop-punk exports. Fresh off a UK headline run, festival appearances at Sound City and The Great Escape, plus support slots with Biffy Clyro, Hot Mulligan and upcoming dates with a reunited Violent Soho, they’re a ridiculously fun addition to this lineup.
Plain White T’s last visited Australia in 2025 alongside Yellowcard, but this time they’re returning on their own terms, with intimate rooms, big nostalgia and enough “HEY THERE DELILAH WHAT’S IT LIKE IN NEW YORK CITY” moments to permanently wreck everyone’s voices.
