Police Hunt Couple Allegedly Spotted Bonking On Ferris Wheel During Guns N’ Roses Set At Download UK

Police in Leicestershire UK are investigating reports of a couple taking the lyrics of ‘Rocket Queen’ a touch too literally while riding the Ferris wheel at Download Fest on Saturday, prior to the commencement of Guns N’ Roses‘ headline set and in full view of thousands of punters.

According to multiple reports and witness accounts circulating online and reported by The Sun, festivalgoers initially assumed the pair were simply enjoying the view from one of the ride’s transparent pods…

This was the talk of the entire festival, but now there are videos and news articles online LMAO https://t.co/9Sf7ElryUK

That theory reportedly did not survive the second rotation.

Witnesses claimed the alleged encounter unfolded while crowds were gathering below ahead of GNR taking the stage, with one attendee telling UK press the moment spread through the crowd surprisingly quickly.

“They were literally in a glass pod above everyone’s heads at the busiest point of the night,” one regular Download attendee told The Daily Star.

“It sort of brought everyone together in a weird way. Before they were spotted, the atmosphere was nervous apprehension because [Guns N’ Roses are] always late on. As soon as the cameras came out and word started getting around about what happened, the atmosphere completely changed – they made the night.”

Elsewhere, another witness reportedly suggested the couple may have assumed the cabin windows were tinted.

Unfortunately for them… eyewitnesses claim visibility conditions were, uh… excellent.

Leicestershire Police confirmed they are aware of footage circulating online and said enquiries are ongoing.

“Officers are aware of a video on social media concerning two people acting inappropriately while on a Ferris wheel at Download this weekend,” a spokesperson told The Sun.

“The incident is currently being investigated and officers are in contact with the organisers of the festival.”

Not everyone found the alleged stunt amusing, however, with some attendees expressing concern that families and younger festivalgoers were present at the time.

The whole thing unfolded during one of the biggest nights of Download 2026, which featured Guns N’ Roses as one of this year’s headliners alongside Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park.

Download has seen walls of death, circle pits and people crowd surfing in inflatable pools… but this might be the first time someone allegedly interpreted Use Your Illusion as an instruction manual.
