Stand Atlantic Announce Fifth Album ‘GODBREATH’, Share New Single ‘LUCID’

Stand Atlantic have officially announced their fifth studio album, GODBREATH, arriving Friday, 23 October via Virgin Music Group.

Alongside the news, the Sydney alternative favourites have unleashed new single LUCID – an explosive cut exploring self-sabotage, inner conflict and the uncomfortable clarity that comes with finally seeing your own patterns for what they are.

Stand Atlantic – ‘LUCID’

The album marks the latest evolution for a band that has spent more than a decade gleefully refusing to stay inside any one genre lane.

Pulling from early-2000s pop-rock, modern pop-punk and the increasingly adventurous sound that has defined their recent releases, GODBREATH finds Stand Atlantic stepping outside their comfort zone while attempting to become more firmly themselves.

Frontperson Bonnie Fraser says the title represents radical authenticity and the power that comes from fully owning who you are.

“To me, GODBREATH means being the most authentic version of yourself,” Fraser explains. “It’s someone who will do whatever they need to do to get shit done. It’s the consequence of those moments when you’re really leaning into what you do, and you feel on top of the world.”

“It’s about speaking and owning your truth.”

That philosophy runs directly through LUCID, which emerged late in the album’s writing process after the band had let go of the pressure and expectations surrounding the project.

Born from a bout of writer’s fatigue, the song channels emotional burnout into heart-racing drums, urgent rhythms and Fraser’s raw, increasingly unfiltered delivery.

Its accompanying video brings things firmly back home, combining VHS-styled footage filmed at Sydney’s Lord Gladstone Hotel with the combustible live energy that has become central to Stand Atlantic’s identity.

GODBREATH was first previewed earlier this year through Velcro, which opened a more melodic chapter for the band while also marking their first proper love song – centred around vulnerability, magnetic attraction and wanting someone you seemingly can’t stay away from.

Since forming in Sydney in 2012, Stand Atlantic have grown from local pop-punk upstarts into one of Australia’s most successful contemporary alternative exports.

Across releases including Skinny Dipping, Pink Elephant, f.e.a.r. and 2024’s WAS HERE, the quartet have amassed more than 500 million catalogue streams, cracked the ARIA Top 10 and developed a fiercely loyal international following.

Their platinum-certified collaboration Deathwish featuring nothing, nowhere. has surpassed 57 million streams, while their triple j Like A Version cover of Juice WRLD’s Righteous became part of the inaugural Like A Version Hottest 100.

Stand Atlantic have also toured extensively alongside acts including Sum 41, A Day To Remember, I Prevail and ONE OK ROCK, with a packed schedule ahead that includes the 2026 US Warped Tour and a UK support run with Simple Plan.

Now entering album number five, the band sound more assured, adventurous and unapologetically themselves than ever.

GODBREATH arrives Friday, 23 October and pre-orders are live now. LUCID is out now and you can take it for a spin up above.
