Attention former Tumblr users, current sad-indie enjoyers and anyone who’s ever stared wistfully out a bus window pretending they were in a music video: Tigers Jaw are officially heading back to Australia.
The beloved Scranton, Pennsylvania outfit have announced a run of Australian headline dates this November, marking their first trip back down under in three years – and yep, they’re also folding in a very special Melbourne appearance supporting Touché Amoré’s exclusive Australian celebration of Stage Four’s 10th anniversary.
Tigers Jaw – ‘Head is Like a Sinking Stone’
For well over a decade, Tigers Jaw have occupied a weirdly perfect sweet spot between emo, indie and post-hardcore, the kind of band whose songs somehow feel equally suited to crying in your bedroom, screaming in a packed venue, or driving nowhere in particular while overthinking your entire life. Their influence stretches across generations of alternative music, with their signature dual vocals, emotional precision and understated cool becoming a blueprint for countless bands that followed.
This return arrives off the back of their seventh studio album Lost on You, released earlier this year via Hopeless Records. Reuniting with producer Will Yip (Turnstile, Movements) at Pennsylvania’s famed Studio 4, the record finds Tigers Jaw doing what they’ve always done best: writing songs that feel immediate, intimate and quietly devastating while still somehow sounding bigger than ever.
Australian fans can expect a set balancing new material with the songs that helped cement Tigers Jaw as one of emo’s most enduring cult faves – the sort of catalogue that’s accumulated emotional significance for people over years, breakups, friendships and approximately one million late-night headphone walks.
The run kicks off in Perth before heading east, including two Melbourne appearances – one alongside Touché Amoré at Forum Theatre and another intimate headline date at Howler.
