There have been adjustments with new crew chiefs and new team members, but the Top Fuel standout continues to thrive, especially over the past three races. After a slow start to the year, Ashley has picked up steam in his 12,000-horsepower dragster, advancing to two semifinals and a final round in the load

Jack Beckman and the PEAK SQUAD took a difficult path to victory in last year’s Gerber Collision & Glass Route 66 NHRA Nationals presented by PEAK so they’re working toward a much smoother route to winner’s circle in this year’s May 15-17 event at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Ill. “The big races to win are typically your hometown race, milestone events, the U.S. Nationals and, and the Pomona races. If you are new around there then you might not know that we seriously dig Formula Off-Road racing here at BANGshift.com. This is high flying, loud, and intense racing that involves what look to be impossible hillclimbs, usually on giant courses made from pea gravel or something similar. It’s intense, the cars often end up upside down or rolling over down a hill. They end up rightside up on their own sometimes, but regardless the action is fun and kind of nuts. These drivers do some stuff that I’

The Ford FE powerplant is arguably one of the most important engines in Ford’s racing heritage. Sure there have been plenty of other powerful combos over the years, but when Chevrolet and Ford were fighting for dominance at the birth of the muscle car, these are the engines that were making heads turn. And they continue to do so. So much so that this year was the 2nd Annual FE Race and Reunion on Muncie Dragway, where an awesome collection of hot rods and race cars were on hand to wow the crowd.

Every racer and fan knows that in the heat of competition emotions and adrenaline run high. We’ve all seen it, when a couple of drivers bump and bang and then it continues off track. But it’s one thing for racers to push and shove each other after an on track altercation, and completely another when they start running into each other with their cars. And that’s exactly what happened this past weekend at I-75 Raceway in Tennessee, and the driver in question has been charged with assault after cra

While Bonneville gets the most fame and attention, and is the most iconic land speed racing location on earth, the dry lake bed at El Mirage is home to land speed racing and arguably the toughest spot to set a record. Winning an SCTA championship requires really good performances on the silty dirt lakebed, and is an accomplishment that any veteran land speed racer really respects. Setting a record on the salt at Bonneville is really tough, but El Mirage is tougher yet. When we saw that our frie

Anyone that works on cars and trucks is familiar with Torx fasteners and bits, as are anyone who’s done any DIY, deck, fence, or construction projects in recent years. There are some big reasons why Torx are great, like their ability to transfer big torque with little stress on the fastener, but man when things go wrong they usually go wrong in the most frustrating way possible. Torx bits seem to be made so you will have to replace them more often than anyone would expect, and some of them seem

Wow what a score this one will be for someone. With less than 70,000 miles on the odometer, and interior and paint that look near mint, this big block 2500 Suburban will make a great family cruiser and tow rig for someone not afraid of today’s gas prices. It’s got a Big Block, TH400, and 3.73 geared 14 bolt, can tow 10,000 lbs and seats 9 people. That means you can load the boat, and all your family, and head out to the lake for a fun day on the water. And while $23k isn’t cheap, and I’m sure th
