  1. onX SOS Service The best adventures take you beyond the pavement, and onX Offroad is the tool built for exploring new places and navigating off-grid with confidence. But we know that when something goes wrong out on the trail, sometimes maps alone aren’t enough. onX has now partnered with Overwatch x Rescue (OxR) to bring you onX SOS, and help get you home when things don’t go according to plan. onX SOS is an emergency rescue add-on subscription that connects you directly to Overwatch x Rescue’s 24/7 Crisis Response Center. Their team assesses the situation, coordinates the response, and stays engaged until help arrives. The new service costs $49.99 per year in addition to your onX subscription. In our experience, that’s half the price of a typical helicopter rescue insurance plan. Plus it’s the quickest way to find an off-road recovery service in an area you are not familiar with. 6. Following the lead of a similar pilot program in Inyo County, California, and the towns of Randsburg and California City (near Mojave), Needles is allowing OHVs to ride in from the nearby BLM land on city streets to access food, gas, and lodging. This also gives the only legal route to cross from the deserts of California into Arizona over the Colorado River. This should be a big boost of revenue to a town that has seen better days. Until now, Needles tourism dollars mostly came from summer time boaters with the exceptions of a few off roads that frequent the Pirate Cove Resort. Now off-roaders will be able to drive into the gas stations, grocery stores, and restaurants throughout the city. The shared OHV routes will have a 35MPH maximum speed, and all vehicles will need to be insured, registered, and driven by a licensed operator. Helmets are also required. At a Glance Status: Active. The OHMV combined-use route network is open and operational. Network: 9.20 miles of designated routes (≤10 miles allowed by state law). Speed: 35 mph maximum for OHMV travel. Requirements: Valid driver’s license, insurance/registration, helmets for ATV/UTV riders. Purpose: Connect BLM trails, services, and lodging for safe recreation and tourism. Legal Authority: Authorized under California Vehicle Code §38026.2 (AB 2152) Designated Staging Areas To improve access and reduce neighborhood impacts, two official staging areas will serve as the primary launch points for riders: Park Drive & River Road – Truck and trailer parking, loading zones, route kiosk, and restrooms. Clary Drive & Lillyhill Drive – Trailhead access, signage, fencing, and rest area amenities. Maps & Navigation Follow posted Begin/End OHMV Route signs, directional arrows, and the 35 mph OHMV speed limit. Use the official map for legal access points, route boundaries, and staging area locations. Ride Legally & Safely Operate only on designated OHMV corridors and obey all traffic laws. Carry a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance/registration at all times. Wear helmets (for ATV/UTV riders) and use seat restraints where equipped. Never exceed 35 mph on OHMV corridors. Yield to pedestrians, reduce dust and noise, and respect residential areas. Community Education & Workshop The City is launching a community education campaign with bilingual mailers, social media posts, and a public workshop to explain the routes, staging areas, and safety requirements. Community Education & Outreach On March 26, 2026, the City of Needles held a community workshop to provide an overview of the OHMV Pilot Program, including designated routes, safety requirements, staging areas, and legal operating guidelines. The City will continue to provide ongoing education, updates, and safety information to support responsible use and compliance with program requirements. 8. MINNEAPOLIS, MN (June 9, 2026) – Polaris Off Road continued its dominance in SCORE competition this past weekend, sweeping the UTV Overall podium and securing the top nine overall positions at the 57th SCORE Baja 500. Longtime Polaris racer Branden Sims delivered a calculated and consistent performance to earn the UTV Overall victory behind the wheel of his RZR Pro R Factory. Fellow Polaris racers Wayne Matlock and first-year RZR Factory Racing driver Ethan Groom completed the all-Polaris podium in second and third, respectively. The grueling 468-mile Baja 500 demanded patience, consistency, and smart decision-making, and Sims delivered all three. A former Baja 500 and Baja 1000 champion seeking his first SCORE victory since 2022, Sims started sixth on the grid and methodically worked his way through the field while avoiding costly mistakes. Running a disciplined race from start to finish, he maintained a strong pace and positioned himself within striking distance of the leaders throughout the day. When an opportunity emerged late in the race, Sims was perfectly poised to capitalize, taking over the front position and never looking back. He maintained his advantage through the closing miles to secure the overall victory, marking his first triumph in just his second race behind the wheel of the new RZR Pro R Factory. “Today was incredible, and it feels so good to get back on top and earn a win,” said Sims. “To come away with the overall victory against such a talented field is really special. My new RZR Pro R Factory was absolutely dialed in and performed flawlessly all day long. We had a smart race plan, maintained a strong pace, picked our lines carefully, and put ourselves in position to capitalize when it mattered most. This is only my second race in the car, but the confidence it gives me behind the wheel is unbelievable.” Matlock and Groom also delivered impressive drives through the field to complete the all-Polaris podium. Starting ninth and outside the top 10, respectively, both drivers put together patient and consistent drives, steadily gaining positions throughout the day to secure second- and third-place finishes, giving Polaris a clean sweep of the overall podium. The Baja 500 further showcased the depth of Polaris’ racing program, as Polaris racers claimed the top nine overall UTV finishing positions. Mitch Guthrie Jr. finished fourth, followed by Dallas Gonzalez in fifth, while Joe Terrana and co-driver Rodrigo Ampudia were sixth. Mike Cafro, Sebastian Marquez, and Kristen Matlock rounded out the top nine in seventh, eighth, and ninth, respectively. Beyond the podium sweep and top-nine lockout, the race further demonstrated the unmatched capability of the RZR Pro R Factory platform. RZR Pro R Factory machines occupied the top six overall finishing positions, with Sims, Matlock, Groom, Mitch Guthrie Jr., Dallas Gonzalez, and Joe Terrana all piloting the championship-proven platform. Built to withstand the punishing terrain and relentless demands of Baja competition, the RZR Pro R Factory once again showcased the performance, durability, and reliability that have made it the benchmark in UTV desert racing. “We couldn’t be prouder of our Polaris racers and the entire team behind this program,” said Alex Scheuerell, Polaris’ Director of Off-Road Motorsports. “To sweep the podium at the Baja 500, secure the top nine overall UTV finishing positions, and see RZR Pro R Factory machines claim the top six spots overall is an incredible accomplishment. The RZR Pro R Factory continues to prove itself as the benchmark in off-road racing, delivering the performance, durability, and reliability needed to win in the toughest conditions. This achievement is a testament to the dedication, talent, and relentless effort of everyone involved in this program.” The RZR Factory Racing team will return stateside for the Best In The Desert Vegas to Reno, August 12-16, as it looks to build on its success in one of the longest and most challenging off-road races in the United States. 13. For 2027, two new purpose-built additions expand the TERYX KRX® 1000 lineup’s capabilities for riding in wooded terrain. Introducing the TERYX KRX® 1000 TR and TERYX® KRX4 1000 TR side x sides— designed to deliver comfort and confidence for riders exploring tight 64-inch forest trails. Compared to the standard TERYX KRX 1000 and TERYX KRX4 1000 models, the TR versions feature a narrower overall width, making them ideal for dense wooded areas. This slimmer stance helps drivers maneuver smoothly between narrow trails. But the TR models are more than just narrower versions of their base counterparts. The front and rear suspension arm mounting angles have been carefully refined to maintain the same generous ground clearance as the TERYX KRX 1000 and TERYX KRX4 1000. With long wheel travel—17 inches up front and 18 inches in the rear—and large 31-inch Maxxis Carnivore tires, the TR models retain the exceptional off-road capability the TERYX KRX 1000 lineup is known for. Suspension tuning with softer damping characteristics and improved ground-following performance delivers a comfortable ride at the low to moderate speeds typical of trail riding, while the stable cornering performance carried over from the standard models helps build rider confidence. Built for tight 64-inch trail riding, these models carry forward the capability, confidence, and comfort that define the TERYX KRX 1000 and TERYX KRX4 1000. The parallel-twin engine, with strong low- end torque, works with the CVT and centrifugal clutch to provide smooth, controlled power delivery at lower speeds, along with dependable engine braking on descents. 14. Championship Off-road’s Antigo Off-road Nationals delivered tight racing on a fast, slick track, and the course was run backwards for the 2026 season’s third and fourth rounds. If that weren’t enough to spice things up, officials also through in a Mandatory pass through the Joker Lane. Fresh off of a Pro SxS sweep at Missouri’s Lucas Oil Speedway, the points leader Jeb Bootle carried his momentum into Antigo. He took control of Saturday’s Pro SxS main on the second lap and set sail. Nathan Wolff and Chase Kempf battled over second most of the race, with Wolff finding late-race speed to secure second. Kempf scored his first podium on 2026 with third. In Saturday’s Pro Stock main, David Gay showed the speed he had in the first Missouri round but was denied the win, and he made up for it by controlling the race from greens to checkers. Jeb Bootle took second early and kept Gay honest in later laps for his first Pro Stock podium of the season. Filling in for the recovering CJ Greaves, Robert Loire wheeled the #33 RZR to the last podium step and a Polaris Pro Stock podium. Pro-Am NA points leader Code St. Peter brushed up for Antigo with a round of the Texas Outlaw series, where he broke Chase Carr’s Eagle Canyon Raceway lap-time record. Code started eighth in a field of 22 Pro-Ams and was in the lead by the third lap. Round two winner Carson Hill also came from deep in the pack to take over second and keep his title hopes alive. Hudson Houle raced to third and scored his second podium of the season. SUNDAY PRO SXS CHAOS Kolton Krajicek led the Sunday Pro SxS main for 10 laps but had a tire going down, allowing Jeb Bottle and Nathan Wolff to close. Kolton got crossed up over a jump as Bootle made a big-air pass attempt. Bootle landed on Krajicek’s front tire and forced the early leader out, while Jeb’s car was also damaged. Wolff took over but a mechanical slowed him on the last lap, and Collin Truett scored his first Pro SxS victory in Champ. Robert Loire put the #33 Pro R on the podium ahead of Brody Sands. Jeb Bootle regrouped from the Pro SxS collision to secure the first Pro Stock win of his Champ career. Jake Kosmecki advanced through the field to snatch second away from Robert Loire on the last lap, and Loire rounded out the podium. Code St. Peter dominated Sunday’s Pro-Am NA main for the weekend sweep. With the field compressed at the mid-race restart, Bryce Powers successfully held off a hard-charging Hudson Houle, who had to settle for third. 15. The 2026 NORRA Mexican 1000 is known for breaking machines, pushing racers beyond their limits, and exposing every weakness a vehicle can have. Endless rocks, deep sand, high-speed desert washes, and punishing heat have humbled some of the most experienced racers in off-road history. For Chupacabra Off-Road’s first-ever NORRA 1000 campaign, the mission was simple: survive Baja, finish strong, and experience one of the most legendary off-road races in the world. What unfolded was something far bigger. Piloting their newly built Polaris RZR Pro R, the Chupacabra Off-Road team tackled over 1,100 brutal Baja miles; they experienced just one minor tire issue — a single flat tire late in the race near San Ignacio. Outside of that isolated incident, the OBOR 35x10R15 Tricera tires delivered flawless performance across the punishing terrain of the 2026 NORRA 1000. No sidewall failures. No major punctures. No race-ending tire problems. For a first-time NORRA effort, the Chupacabra Off-Road team proved both driver skill and tire durability under some of the harshest off-road racing conditions in the world. “We had one flat during the entire event, but beyond that the tires were incredible,” said the team. “The Tricera’s gave us confidence every day to keep pushing through Baja.” The NORRA 1000 is unlike traditional desert racing. Competitors battle through every type of terrain imaginable — from sharp volcanic rock sections and technical mountain passes to endless high-speed desert roads where temperatures and fatigue punish both drivers and equipment. While many teams faced setbacks throughout the week, the Tricera-equipped Pro R continued charging forward day after day. The result? • 6th Place – Pro SxS Class • 8th Fastest UTV out of 67 competitors • 40th Overall Finish • Over 1,100 miles completed on a single set of OBOR Tricera tires What stood out most to the team was the tire’s versatility across Baja’s constantly changing terrain. “Some sections felt like a video game,” the team explained. “One moment you’re battling high-horsepower pre-runners in wide-open desert, and the next you’re crawling through technical rock sections where precision matters most. The Tricera’s handled all of it without hesitation.” Originally engineered for aggressive desert racing and high-performance UTV applications, the OBOR Tricera has rapidly earned a reputation for delivering predictable handling, durability, and confidence at speed. The NORRA 1000 now adds another major milestone to the tire’s growing legacy. “This race proved exactly what the Tricera was built for,” said OBOR Tires U.S. Marketing Manager Bruce Nyland. “Baja is one of the harshest environments in off-road racing, and for Chupacabra Off-Road to complete their first NORRA 1000 with zero tire issues across 1,100+ miles says everything about the durability and performance of the Tricera platform.” The adventure doesn’t stop at the finish line. Chupacabra Off-Road is now releasing a full 9-part YouTube video series documenting the RZR build, testing process, and complete NORRA 1000 journey, along with additional Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and livestream content showcasing the race experience and product performance throughout Baja. Fans can follow the entire series and future race content on the Chupacabra Off-Road YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@ChupacabraOffroad As the dust settles in Baja, one thing is clear: The OBOR Tricera didn’t just survive the NORRA 1000. It conquered it. For more information about OBOR Tires and the Tricera lineup, visit OBOR Tires.
