Featured Product: The New Ridetech RQ-S Series Adjustable Shocks Are Available Now And Offer Ridetech’s Most Affordable Adjustable Shock Yet!
We all love full boogie race parts and high end components for our projects, but sometimes that stuff can be a bit overkill not only from a performance perspective, but also from the budget standpoint. I mean I’m a huge fan of the Single and Triple Adjustable Ridetech shocks that we’ve been running on projects for years, with their impact forged aluminum Fox shock bodies and all the technology, but I’ve got a couple of cars that the expensive shocks feel a little bit overkill on, even though they perform wonderfully. So what if there were a lower cost alternative, with all the same performance, for those who just need a single adjustable shock for their driver? Ridetech has you covered, and here’s how. These new RQ-S shocks from Ridetech feature Steel Bodies for durability and reliability at a more affordable price point. We’re talking 25-30% cheaper than their HQ series shocks, with the same adjustability and quality valving you have come to expect in their other shock offerings. All the info is below and we’ll be installing some of these new steel body shocks on a couple of our projects soon! Ridetech is pleased to announce the release of their RQ-S Adjustable Monotube Shock series. RQ stands for “Ride Quality”, representing Ridetech’s continued dedication to ride quality, while the “S” signifies the 1.5” steel body construction. These new 1.5” steel body shocks offer the tried-and-true Ridetech ride quality our customers have come to expect from over 30 years of suspension development thanks to their monotube design. They also feature 24-position rebound adjustability allowing you to dial in performance to your liking, along with heavy duty 1/2” shock shafts, all at an affordable price. Ridetech RQ-S shocks also benefit from the same best-in-industry 1,000,001 mile warranty, just as all other Ridetech shocks. This warranty offers great peace of mind and confidence that your classic car or truck will enjoy an improved ride quality for decades to come. Features & Benefits: Steel construction provides durability • Monotube design provides superior damping control thanks to larger piston and precise valving • 24-position rebound adjustability make it possible to dial in the rebound responsiveness of each corner of your ride • Heavy-duty 1/2” shock shafts serve to combat against deflection and bending • “Best-in-industry” 1,000,001 mile warranty Fitment: Ridetech RQ-S Shocks are available for a variety of vehicles, years, makes, and models. Shakedown XXIII at M’Town: Pro Mod Field, Storylines, Schedule & Coverage
The FuelTech Radial Outlaws Racing Series and the Mid-West Drag Racing Series piled some of the meanest doorslammers in the country into U.S. 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Mich. for Shakedown XXIII at M’Town — three days of eighth-mile knife fights with the Stroud Safety Pro Mods headlining a 10-class card that includes Radial vs. The World, Pro 275, Limited Drag Radial, X275, Ultra Street, X255, Gangster X, Top Sportsman, and Top Dragster. Twenty-six Pro Mods are chasing a 16-car field, and Kallee Mills drew first blood Thursday with a 3.5755 at 210.08 to top the opening qualifier. Saturday eliminations run under the lights with the whole show streaming live on FloRacing. This is your hub for the field, the brackets, the storylines, and every Drag Illustrated story filed from Martin. Jump to: How to Watch (FloRacing) · Storylines · Pro Mod Field · Classes in Action · Schedule · DI Coverage · Track Info Updating Live: Pro Mod qualifying continues Thursday and Friday nights, with the last qualifier Saturday morning before eliminations begin at 4 p.m. Field updates, bump-spot watches, and round-by-round Saturday results post here as sessions wrap. Storylines to Watch Mills sets the tone — and Thornton has more in the car Kallee Mills opened with a .017 light and a 3.5755 at 210.08 — clean, on the chip, and the quickest pass of Q1. Jason Lee (3.5773) and Paul Gargus (3.5826) are right behind. But the speed leaderboard tells its own story: Ed Thornton snuck inside the 16 at the bump spot with a 3.6754 — and ran 218.77 mph doing it, the fastest trap speed in the field. If Thornton can convert that mph into ET, the Q1 leaderboard is going to look very different by the end of Friday. Watch Paige Coughlin (3.6033 / 211.57) and Jason Lee (3.5773 / 211.37) as the mph chasers between Mills and Thornton. 26 cars, 16 spots — bump-spot watch Twenty-six Pro Mods showed up for sixteen spots, and the cars on the outside looking in after Q1 read like a who’s-who of small-tire/Pro Mod regulars: Craig Sullivan, Ryan Bush, Don Klooster, Keith Haney, Justin Swanstrom, Don Walsh Jr., Aaron Wells, Greg Blevins Jr., Jim Widener, and Jason Kalso. Q2 Thursday night and Q3/Q4 Friday will move the bump number, and Swanstrom — a regular top-half qualifier — sitting 21st after Q1 is the kind of starting point that ends in a Friday night statement run. The MWDRS × Radial Outlaws mash-up Donald Long’s FuelTech Radial Outlaws Racing Series running on the same weekend, at the same track, alongside the Mid-West Drag Racing Series Pro Mods is the kind of card that didn’t exist a few years ago. The MWDRS Stroud Safety Pro Mods bring the big-tire, blown-and-nitrous-fueled heavy artillery. The Radial Outlaws side delivers Radial vs. The World, Pro 275, Limited Drag Radial, X275, and the rest of the small-tire ladder. Different rule books, different combinations, same starting line — and one Saturday night to settle it. Stroud Safety Pro Mod — After Q1 Twenty-six cars entered. Sixteen will race Saturday. 2026 NHRA Potomac Nationals: Schedule, Storylines, Results & Coverage
The NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series rolls into a brand-new home this weekend for the inaugural NHRA Potomac Nationals presented by JEGS at Maryland International Raceway in Mechanicsville, Md. — the second of four new events on the 2026 tour and the seventh race of the 75th anniversary season. Top Fuel points leader Shawn Langdon brings momentum off his Chicago win. Antron Brown is back on the East Coast for a hometown run. Funny Car co-leaders Ron Capps and J.R. Todd headline a class that is producing a different winner almost every weekend. Reigning Pro Stock champ Dallas Glenn leads a stacked Pro Stock field, and Richard Gadson tries to fend off Gaige Herrera and Matt Smith in Pro Stock Motorcycle. The biggest threat may be the driver he just beat: four-time world champion Antron Brown, who calls the Mid-Atlantic his East Coast home and is the No. 2 seed in this weekend’s Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge after a runner-up finish at Route 66. Reigning world champion Doug Kalitta, racing legend Tony Stewart, Gainesville winner Josh Hart, Justin Ashley, Leah Pruett, Clay Millican, and rookie Maddi Gordon — fresh off back-to-back 340-mph runs in Valdosta — round out a loaded field. Krista Baldwin continues her Top Fuel return. Funny Car: Two-way tie at the top, a class that won’t settle Through six races, Funny Car has produced six different winners. Ron Capps (two wins) and past world champ J.R. Todd are tied for the points lead. Four-time champion Matt Hagan sits third. Chicago winner Chad Green, Valdosta winner Jordan Vandergriff, Route 66 runner-up Alexis DeJoria, Jack Beckman, Spencer Hyde, and Austin Prock all enter Maryland with realistic Wally aspirations. Don’t sleep on independent campaigners “Nitro” Joe Morrison and Chicago firefighter Chris King, either — both are in the field. Pro Stock: Glenn leads, Hartford pushes, Anderson lurks Reigning world champion Dallas Glenn rides two wins to the points lead. Matt Hartford matches that win total. Six-time champion Greg Anderson, who has the Pomona Wally and a heartbreak red light in the Chicago final, is still very much in the title hunt. Six-time champion Erica Enders heads to MIR after her first No. 1 qualifier since 2024. Chicago winner Aaron Stanfield, Jeg Coughlin Jr., and T.J. Coughlin round out a class that has been the most predictably stacked in the building since Day 1. Pro Stock Motorcycle: Gadson’s grip, Maryland’s hometown rider World champion Richard Gadson leads the points. Gaige Herrera, six-time champ Matt Smith, Angie Smith (the Route 66 runner-up and No. 1 qualifier), John Hall, and Jianna Evaristo are all dangerous. Maryland native Kelly Clontz will have the home crowd. Steve Johnson‘s long-running Suzuki program is eager to get the NHRA back to the Mid-Atlantic. Expect the Smith camp to lead the qualifying sheet again — they have been at every event in 2026. 75th Anniversary: Muldowney, the Diamond Wally, a Pennant Giveaway Sunday’s winners will hoist a special 75th anniversary Diamond Wally — a one-time look reserved for the milestone season. The MIR debut weekend is also part of NHRA’s anniversary tour with: An appearance from three-time Top Fuel world champion Shirley Muldowney with a tribute to her trailblazing career.A free limited-edition NHRA pennant for the first 4,000 fans in attendance Sunday.Antron Brown joins the NHRA Top 75 Driver List, joining Tony Schumacher, Ron Capps, and Greg Anderson on the milestone-season roll. Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge Field The Saturday-only Top Fuel field is set off the four most recent results: Chicago winner Shawn Langdon draws Gainesville winner Josh Hart on one side of the ladder; Chicago runner-up Antron Brown meets Leah Pruett on the other. Opinions are like belly buttons, meaning everyone’s got one, but that doesn’t mean they are based on facts. It’s Got 1 Cylinder and 13 Horsepower! Is It Actually The Best City Car Out There? Here’s Why Jay Leno Thinks So!
If you are under the age of 20, you might not recognize this car, but otherwise you’ve probably seen a BMW Isseta before. Made famous again by the lovable and weird Steve Urkel character on Family Matters in the 1990’s, this little car is weird, cute, and fun with a heavy emphasis on the little and weird. With an entire nose that opens up, and a steering wheel that pivots out of the way, it required some practice to climb in and out of comfortably. But they are a car that makes you smile and definitely draws everyone’s attention. Think Smart Car but way older. In the video below from Jay Leno’s Garage you’ll learn all about these little cars and also see why Jay thinks this might be the ultimate city car. I mean it is easy to park! Video Description: Jay Leno steps inside an absolute automotive hero that looks anything but heroic: a 1958 BMW Isetta 300. Before BMW built precision sports cars and luxury sedans, the company was completely devastated by World War II. Restricted by post-war regulations, they desperately needed a vehicle to keep them afloat. And this eccentric, Italian-designed microcar was exactly what saved the brand. Jay welcomes guest Danny Patlin to the garage to explore the engineering details of this iconic bubble car. Originally designed in Italy by ISO (a company that famously manufactured refrigerators and deep freezers), the Isetta features its legendary single front-opening door, complete with a pivoting steering wheel assembly. BMW bought the licensing rights, re-engineered the vehicle with premium German craftsmanship, and stuffed it with an air-cooled 298cc four-stroke motorcycle engine. With over 160,000 units sold in its era, the Isetta gave BMW the financial capital to build the performance machinery they are known for today. Watch as Jay and Danny squeeze into the cabin for a hilarious, flat-out test drive through the streets of Los Angeles. It’s a classic case of why driving a slow car fast is sometimes the most fun you can have on wheels! The post It’s Got 1 Cylinder and 13 Horsepower! Is It Actually The Best City Car Out There?
