Starting with iOS 27, the Apple Wallet app will offer enhanced digital keys at participating hotels and resorts. Apple said you can view more details about your trips, receive updates about booked activities, access services available during your stay, and more. Apple did not share a list of hotels and resorts that will be offering these upgraded keys, but TechRadar reported that Walt Disney World Resort plans to add support for the improved feature by the time iOS 27 is released in September. You can already add your Disney World tickets to Apple Wallet through the My Disney Experience app, and then simply tap your iPhone or Apple Watch on the scanners located at the entrances to parks and Lightning Lane queues for rides. On iOS 27, though, the report said this MagicMobile experience will get better in several ways. According to the report, tapping on your MagicMobile pass in the Wallet app will allow you to view more information, including your park reservations for the current day and future days, your Lightning Lane ride selections, special ticketed events (such as After Hours), dining reservations, and more. The enhanced passes are dynamic, meaning that the information shown is updated automatically throughout the day. You will still need to use the My Disney Experience app to actually make your Lightning Lane selections, dining reservations, and so forth. These enhancements will make Apple Wallet more useful for Disney World visits — especially if someone else in your group is managing your day. Resorts World Las Vegas also plans to offer enhanced Apple Wallet keys on iOS 27, per the report. Yesterday, we reported that Chase's Sapphire Preferred credit card ($95 annual fee) now offers a complimentary one-year Apple TV streaming subscription, or a $7.50/month discount on an active Apple One subscription instead. It turns out that the Apple One discount now extends to Chase's premium Sapphire Reserve credit card too ($795 annual fee). The Sapphire Reserve has offered free subscriptions to both Apple TV and Apple Music since last year, but now cardholders can receive a combined $15/month discount on an Apple One subscription instead. For example, a Reddit user showed that their Apple One Premier plan has been discounted to $21.95 per month, down from the regular price of $37.95 per month. Back in March with the release of macOS Tahoe 26.4, Apple introduced a new security popup that warns Mac users when they paste a command into the Terminal app that could be harmful. Apple has now published a support document explaining why the popup warning appears. Screenshot via "Mr. Macintosh" The warning says the following when it appears: Possible malware, Paste blocked Your Mac has not been harmed. Scammers often encourage pasting text into Terminal to try and harm your Mac or compromise your privacy. These instructions are commonly offered via websites, chat agents, apps, files, or a phone call.There is a "Paste Anyway" option for users to proceed if they wish. In a document titled "If your Mac blocks a Terminal command paste or script," spotted by 9to5Mac, Apple explains that the alert appears if you don't regularly use Terminal and you copied the command from somewhere like a website, chat agent, or messaging or email app. "Scammers use these channels to instruct people to paste malicious commands into Terminal to harm your Mac or compromise your privacy," says Apple. "This alert helps make sure that you aren't tricked into running a command that you didn't expect." The document also mentions two other types of Terminal-related alerts that are more proactive. If a "Malware Detected, Paste Blocked" or "Malicious Script Blocked" alert appears, macOS has detected a command or script that contains known malware and has blocked it, according to Apple. In such cases, no "Paste Anyway" option is provided. Apple says that if you believe the command or script was mistakenly blocked, it could be because a website that it tries to access was incorrectly reported as deceptive. Italy's competition regulator said on Tuesday it had launched an investigation into Apple over its compliance with interoperability obligations as set out in the European Digital Markets Act (DMA). Under the DMA, Apple must ensure that third-party providers of consumer cloud services can interoperate effectively and free of charge with Apple's iOS and iPadOS software platforms. The rules also mandate equal access to Apple's iCloud service. The Italian Competition Authority said in a statement on its website that it had proof that other providers of consumer cloud services "may not be placed on an equal footing as Apple's iCloud," as they did not appear to have access to the same software features available to Apple's own service. Specifically, the authority said that Apple does not allow alternative cloud storage services to use features in iOS and iPadOS that enable users to perform a full backup of their device's data. The probe is the first of its kind opened ​by the Italian watchdog under ​the ⁠DMA, which allows national regulators to conduct preliminary investigations. The authority said its findings will be shared with the European Commission "to support it in its role as sole DMA enforcer." Next year's regular iPhone 18 will come with 12GB of RAM to support Apple's most powerful on-device AI model and related Siri features, according to South Korea's KB Securities (via DigiTimes). In its Siri AI announcement during WWDC 2026, Apple confirmed that its most powerful model enables more expressive Siri voices and major accuracy improvements for systemwide dictation. Both features require 12GB of unified memory. Among current iPhones, that limits the more powerful model to the iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The iPhone 17 misses out because it only has 8GB of RAM, but the same limitation isn't expected for the iPhone 18. Apple will boost memory for the base model to 12GB while keeping the iPhone's price unchanged, according to today's report. It's the second time we've heard that Apple is planning to ensure memory parity across its iPhone 18 lineup. Last October, Korea's The Bell said the iPhone 18 would have 50 percent more memory than its predecessor. Apple has apparently asked its RAM suppliers to increase its supply of LPDDR5X chips for the next iPhone lineup. KB Securities also noted that Apple will continue buying mobile DRAM from the world's three largest memory makers – Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron – at prices above market levels, and suggested the company will absorb the costs rather than pass them on to the consumer. Suggestions that Apple's rumored foldable iPhone will be delayed are wide of the mark, claimed a Chinese leaker today. In a post on Weibo, the leaker known as Fixed Focus Digital said launch delay rumors are "false" and suggestions that the device's release has been pushed to next year are "far-fetched." Multiple reports have suggested Apple's first foldable iPhone could be unveiled alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models this September, and the leaker believes that still stands. "The most likely scenario is that it will launch alongside the iPhone 18 series," said Fixed Focus Digital in another post earlier this month. "Even if there is a delay, it would probably only be postponed by about one month before going on sale," they added. There have been sporadic reports that Apple's first foldable device has faced engineering challenges in late-stage development. In May, for example, Instant Digital claimed Apple's foldable iPhone continued to face durability-related issues with its hinge mechanism. Apple is believed to have largely overcome concerns surrounding display creasing, but the leaker said that long-term hinge reliability has yet to meet the company's standards. Apple is known for imposing strict reliability standards on new product categories, but ongoing concerns about the hinge itself would be an unusual situation this close to an anticipated launch. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said in March that the new foldable iPhone may not ship to customers in the same September time frame as the iPhone 18 Pro and ‌iPhone 18 Pro‌ Max. Prior to Gurman's report, Barclays analyst Tim Long suggested that the foldable iPhone won't ship until December, opening up a roughly three-month delay between the completely new device and the ‌iPhone 18 Pro‌ models. Apple has done a split launch before, shipping one model later than another. When the iPhone X launched in 2017, it shipped out in November, while the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus introduced alongside it came out in September as usual. For more than a decade, one of Australian live music’s biggest fights happened behind the scenes. Not in mosh pits or on festival stages, but in council meetings, licensing battles and endless policy documents trying to stop venues disappearing under regulation (remember the infamous Sydney mirror ball crackdown of 2019?). Now, after 13 years, the organisation that helped lead that charge is calling time. “In the 13 years since the Live Music Office was established, the landscape has changed dramatically” APRA AMCOS has announced that both the Live Music Office (LMO) and its community-focused Live And Local program will officially wrap up from 1 July, closing the chapter on a project that quietly helped reshape the conditions for live music across Australia. And while at first glance it might sound alarming – another support structure disappearing during an already brutal period for the industry – but APRA’s message is actually something else entirely: the fight has changed. When the Live Music Office launched in 2013 alongside the National Cultural Policy and Creative Australia, live music faced a very different set of problems. Liquor licensing restrictions, planning laws, noise complaints and venue regulations were making it increasingly difficult for venues to operate and for local scenes to survive. The mission was simple: remove barriers and build an environment where live music could actually exist. Over the next 13 years, the LMO worked with governments and councils around the country to reform policy, develop best-practice resources and advocate for venue protections. Alongside that work, Live And Local partnered with more than 40 councils and supported over 1,000 local music events nationwide – helping councils understand not just the cultural value of live music, but its economic impact too. In that time, Australia’s music infrastructure has changed dramatically. State music offices were established. Music Australia launched. Night-time economy commissioners emerged. Dedicated live music funding streams appeared. Organisations like the Australian Live Music Business Council, Live Music Venues Alliance and Australian Festival Association stepped into the space. “In the 13 years since the Live Music Office was established, the landscape has changed dramatically,” APRA AMCOS CEO Dean Ormston said in a press statement. “With government bodies at a federal and state level now doing such an incredible job for live music, and local councils empowered to continue the good work, now feels like the right time to hand back the mantle.” But APRA’s announcement also acknowledges something uncomfortable: the regulations that once threatened live music may no longer be the biggest problem. Money is. According to a 2024 APRA AMCOS and OneMusic survey of almost 3,000 venues, more than 70 per cent reported they had stopped programming live music for financial reasons. More than 70 per cent also said tax rebates or incentives would be the single most effective intervention to bring live music back. So rather than continuing to focus on regulatory reform, APRA says its advocacy efforts will now shift toward pushing the Federal Government for a broad-based live music tax incentive scheme – a recommendation already backed by the 2025 House of Representatives Standing Committee on Communications and the Arts. Economic modelling commissioned by APRA estimates such a policy could generate between $636 million and $920 million in economic activity, create up to 10,800 jobs and support more than 322,000 additional live performances annually. The financial fallout from Bluesfest’s sudden collapse is becoming clearer – and for thousands of fans and suppliers left out of pocket, the outlook isn’t promising. New reports into the cancelled 2026 festival have revealed creditors are expected to receive no more than 11 cents for every dollar owed, with total debts now reported to exceed $10 million. According to documents lodged by appointed liquidator Worrells and reported by the ABC, around $7.4 million is owed to unsecured creditors – a group made up largely of ticket holders and suppliers. The update follows Bluesfest’s shock cancellation in March, when organisers pulled the plug on the beloved Byron Bay festival less than three weeks before gates were due to open and placed two associated entities – Bluesfest Byron Bay Pty Ltd and Bluesfest Enterprises Pty Ltd – into liquidation. Liquidator Jason Bettles has since been tasked with untangling the festival’s finances and reporting findings to ASIC. In a statutory report, Bettles noted that both entities may have operated while insolvent for periods prior to the collapse, though investigations remain ongoing. Bettles also noted some transactions appeared “out of the ordinary”, while stressing that does not in itself indicate wrongdoing. Bluesfest founder and director Peter Noble OAM has said he is cooperating with the process and maintains he acted appropriately throughout. Elsewhere in the creditor list, reports indicate the festival owes money to government agencies including the Australian Taxation Office, while Destination NSW and Transport for NSW are also listed among creditors. National Australia Bank (NAB) has reportedly emerged as the festival’s largest secured creditor. When the cancellation was first announced, organisers pointed to a brutal operating environment for major live events – citing rising production, logistics, insurance and touring costs, alongside softer ticket demand and broader international uncertainty. Siri Voice Apple has a more powerful on-device model for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air, allowing for a customizable ‌Siri‌ voice. Apple says its on-device model can understand and generate speech, plus understand text and images. You can tweak expressivity and pace when customizing ‌Siri‌'s voice. The on-device model also improves accuracy for system-wide dictation thanks to better natural language understanding. Dictation is better at capturing what you're saying, and it makes fewer mistakes with spelling, punctuation, and capitalization. Privacy Apple's ‌Siri‌ features run on-device and on cloud servers using Private Cloud Compute. Data is not accessible to Apple or third parties. Apple is planning to unify the email domains used by Sign in with Apple and iCloud+ Hide My Email under a single private.icloud.com domain. Addresses generated for both features will be issued on the new domain, Apple says. Sign in with Apple addresses currently use the privaterelay.appleid.com domain, while ‌iCloud‌+ uses icloud.com. Later this summer, both will use the same private.icloud.com domain. Email addresses that use the legacy domains will continue to work and mail will be forwarded with no interruption. Developers with apps or websites that use Sign in with Apple will need to make sure their account systems, email validation logic, and allowlists accept addresses on the private.icloud.com domain in addition to the existing domains. As noted by 9to5Mac, Apple One subscribers can receive a $7.50 discount per month instead. That appears set to change this year, however. Multiple reports claim the base iPhone 18 model will be held over until spring 2027, and only the iPhone 18 Pro models will debut this year alongside Apple's first foldable iPhone. Now, comments from a key Apple supplier appear to offer corroborating evidence that the company is preparing to break from its traditional launch schedule. Speaking at Largan Precision's annual shareholders' meeting, chairman Lin En-ping said a major U.S. customer had postponed the launch of a new model to the first quarter of 2027, shifting component procurement later into the year and boosting expected factory utilization in the fourth quarter. Lin did not identify the customer or product, but Largan is Apple's primary supplier of iPhone camera lenses, so the remarks are notable in light of reports that the standard iPhone 18 will not launch alongside Apple's higher-end models this time around. The comments are particularly noteworthy because Apple suppliers rarely offer public details about clients' future product launches, even indirectly. According to reports, Apple plans to split future iPhone launches across two release windows. Apple is internally testing iOS 26.5.2, according to the MacRumors visitor logs, which have accurately confirmed many future iOS versions over the years. iOS 26.5.2 will almost certainly be a minor update that fixes software bugs and/or security vulnerabilities. We do not know exactly when the update will be released, but our best guess is that it will arrive this week or next week. iOS 26.5.1 was released earlier this month with a fix for a charging issue that impacted some iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone Air units. That update was not released for any other iPhones, so it is reasonable that Apple is apparently planning a follow-up iOS 26.5.2 update that supports the full range of compatible models. Apple has a lot of software updates in the works, as iOS 26.5.2 will arrive alongside the iOS 26.6 beta and iOS 27 beta. The obvious takeaway from 2026’s biggest incidents is that attackers are increasingly using AI to move fast. Docker’s CISO, Mark Lechner, wrote about this shift and what every engineering team should do now. What worries us is that the bar is about to drop further. For most of the last decade, finding a serious vulnerability in widely used open source took time and specialized skill. Frontier models now read code, reason across dependencies, and surface novel, chained vulnerabilities at machine speed, including flaws that survived years of expert review. Anthropic’s Mythos, and the more powerful models that follow it will find more vulnerabilities, faster, and by a wider margin than skilled humans could. The gap between a vulnerability being discovered and exploited has shrunk from years to hours, and a growing share are weaponized before they are ever public. We believe the durable response in this reality is twofold: build products that are secure and transparent by default, and collaborate deeply across the ecosystem to share signals and intelligence. No single vendor sees the whole picture, and customers are best protected when supply chain technologies work together rather than in isolation. Secure-by-default tools for devs, as AI embeds into the SDLC As coding agents take on more of the software lifecycle, secure defaults have to cover more than what you build with. They have to cover where agents run and what they can reach. Today, Docker’s investment spans three areas covering sandboxes for local developers, secure dependencies, and governed access to vetted MCP tools. These capabilities and our upcoming products in the near future collectively help secure the developer environment as AI embeds itself into the SDLC: Isolated, sandboxed execution for agents: Docker Sandboxes run AI coding agents in isolated microVMs, each with its own kernel, filesystem, and deny-by-default network, so a compromised dependency an agent pulls cannot reach the host, its credentials, or other workloads. Trusted, open source foundations: Docker Hardened Images Community is free and open source under Apache 2.0. The catalog now spans over 3,500 hardened images and tens of thousands of hardened system packages, extending across container images, system packages, Helm charts, and MCP servers. DHI makes secure dependencies the easy, default choice. Governed access to tools: Docker MCP Catalog and Gateway give agents a trusted, hardened set of MCP servers, plus centralized policy, secret blocking, and audit logging, so the connections agents make are verified rather than assumed. Together these tools give developers a secure default from the first docker build through to the agent running in their environment. Working with the ecosystem on behalf of every developer The second part of our approach is how we work with the ecosystem. For example, with the axios compromise earlier this year and the TeamPCP campaign, Docker worked with partners including Socket, the Trivy team, Checkmarx, and others to analyze the attacks and contain the blast radius (recap). The damage potential with these attacks could have been very large, however sharing signals across company lines, in real time, is what kept the blast radius relatively small. Sports Live uses live match data to trigger lighting changes at key in-game moments, including goals, yellow cards, and red cards, with the aim of making at-home viewing feel more immersive. Unlike traditional TV sync systems that rely on HDMI-based hardware to analyze on-screen content, Sports Live connects directly to live match data and responds to events as they occur, eliminating the need for additional synchronization hardware. During quieter periods, lights adapt to reflect a favorite team's colors, the leading team's colors, or a neutral white when the score is tied.
